Cursor Guides, in Plain English
Standalone guides for the questions PMs and non-developers actually search for. Each one is researched against Cursor’s current docs, date-stamped, and honest about what changed recently (Cursor’s UI moves fast). You don’t need the free course to use them, though every guide pairs with a course module if you want the hands-on version.
Getting Unstuck
- How to Open a Folder in Cursor: File > Open Folder, drag-and-drop,
cursor ., markdown preview, and the fix when the sidebar shows nothing. - Cursor Modes Explained: Agent, Ask, Plan, and Debug, plus what happened to Chat (Cmd+L) and Composer (Cmd+I).
- Cursor Keyboard Shortcuts for PMs: the ~15 shortcuts a non-developer actually needs, Mac and Windows.
Doing PM Work
- Write a PRD in Cursor: folder setup, context files, a reusable PRD skill, and keeping specs in markdown.
- Cursor Rules for Non-Developers: project rules, global rules, and copy-paste starter rules for PM work.
- Can Cursor Read Excel Files?: the honest answer, the CSV workaround, and a full analysis walkthrough.
Every guide is free, like the course they orbit. If something here has drifted out of date, tell me on X and I’ll fix it.
